Book XII
Achilles and Cycnus- For the second time we see a mortal man whose courage is unchecked by the power of the gods.
Caenis/Caenus- After defilement by the great god of the sea, she wanted this to never happen again; as a man she/he would never endure it again.
Lapiths and Centaurs- If anything can be learned from this gruesome battle it is to watch how much wine you drink, especially at a wedding.
Caenus- Although he could not be killed by sword, the centaurs still found a way to kill the mighty Caenus.
The death of Achilles- The gods had it out for Achilles and yet in his death, men honored him.
